CLUSTERING DEVICE FOR FLASH MEMORY AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A clustering device for a flash memory and a method thereof are provided to improve a write performance by collating pages having similar update timing and writing them in the same block. CONSTITUTION: In a device, a period of a page including data having the different update period is same as those of the period of data having the shortest update period. An allotting unit allots page for storing data based on based on a group manager table according to a write operation request. An erasing unit erases a block selected by an erase policy according to a request of an elimination operation. The group manager table manages a certain number of a group entry. The group manager table is comprised of a list of a blocks corresponding to the group and group update time.
