A process for making and packaging insulating felts from fibrous materials, especially from mineral fibers begins with insulating blanket, which is transported continuously on a transporting device (2). The process comprises longitudinal cutting of the blanket into a plurality of parallel fiber strips (10), transported by the transporting device (2). The fiber strips (10) are transported by at least one branching and convergence device (4) to at least one reception conveyor (5), where they are placed on each other in such a way, that they form at least one longitudinal stack (11) of mineral strips (10). The stack (11) is compressed by a compression device (6) and in compressed condition is cut crosswise for production of insulating felts. The apparatus for making the above-described process comprises a branching and convergence device (4), which includes belt conveyors (40) for each one of the fiber strips (10). The belt conveyors (40) have their starting points at a junction of the transporting device (2) and against relevant fiber strips (10), and their arrival points are aligned along a vertical axis (A) and above the reception conveyor (5). |
