<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device capable of suppressing the deviation of relative rotation phase between a vane member and housing due to the radial positional displacement of a second lock pin caused by a manufacturing error and assembling error. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A tip of a first lock pin 26 is formed so as to be abuttable on the bottom of a first lock hole 24 and keeps the outer diameter smaller than the bottom area of the first lock hole 24. While forming a first lock hole in a long rectangular shape along a circumferential direction of a sproket body 5, the inside surface 24a of the first lock hole abuttable on an outer peripheral edge of a tip of the first lock pin when maintaining the relative rotational position between the housing 7 and vane member 9 is formed in a planar shape radially extending from the center P of the sproket body.
