<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the effect of a low cost by improving an operation for attaching or detaching a unit or improving reliability (safety), reducing the number of components, and simplifying a mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a unit support base movable outside and inside the body of the apparatus with the image formation unit placed thereon.
