<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which more precisely detects a temperature rise of a fixing roller at a low cost to make effective control for suppressing the temperature rise in the non-paper feed area, thereby preventing breakage of the device. <P>SOLUTION: A temperature measurement section 10 measures the temperature of a soaking roller 3 which contacts with a pressure roller 2. This makes it possible to precisely estimate the temperature distribution of the fixing roller 1 and the pressure roller 2 including a non-paper feed area of paper sheets P. Based on the temperature of the soaking roller 3 measured by the temperature measurement section 10, fixing operation is controlled by a fixing operation control section 13. Thereby, optimal control can be implemented to suppress the temperature rise in the non-paper feed area according to the estimated temperature distribution of the fixing roller 1 and the pressure roller 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
