摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical axis shift apparatus which achieves high speed response by a simple constitution without the need of a mechanical driving mechanism. SOLUTION: The optical axis shift apparatus is composed of shift flat plates 2, 3, each comprising a fist liquid crystal element 10 and a second liquid crystal element 20 each comprising: a pair of transparent electrodes 13, 14 arranged so as to face each other; a pair of alignment plates 15, 16 subjected to an orientation treatment in a prescribed direction and provided to the facing sides of a pair of the transparent electrodes 13, 14, respectively; and liquid crystal layers 17 provided between a pair of the alignment plates 15, 16, and in which liquid crystal molecules are initially oriented in a prescribed direction by the alignment plates 15, 16, and changing the effectual refractive index of the liquid crystal layers 17 by changing the attitude of the liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layers 17 by applying a voltage to a space between the transparent electrodes 13, 14, wherein, the shift flat plates 2, 3 in which the first liquid crystal element 10 and the second liquid crystal element 20 are stacked such that the orientation directions are made orthogonal each other are arranged so as to be tilted with respect to the optical axis direction of incident light.
