The method involves representing an input field (11) i.e. text window, including a maximum number of symbols of text. An extended input field (31) including another maximum number of symbols is represented. The latter maximum number of symbols is larger than the former maximum number of symbols. The input field is activated by actuation of an editing pointer (21) i.e. mouse pointer. A position (42) in the text is marked by the actuation of the editing pointer. A text section (41) represented in the input field has the marked text position.
