The present invention relates to a system and a method for electronic payment through a mobile terminal. The invention has a special purpose to provide the system and the method that allow an electronic payment unit to settle the payment resulting from the provision of contents or services when receiving the goods or services by assessing an online member shop through a user computer. The system and the method according to the invention settle the payment for the contents or services provided from the online member shop using a mobile terminal that includes the electronic payment unit. Thereby, the system and the method can be utilized as an online payment means instead of offline payment which was exclusively allowed at a previous time.
