DISK DRIVE DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device capable of being attached to a computer device body, which is a thin type and has various shapes.

SOLUTION: The disk drive device is provided with: a device body 3 to/from which a disk 2 is inserted and discharged; a disk attaching part 23 to which the disk 2 inserted into the device body 3 is attached; a disk rotation drive mechanism 27 rotation-driving the disk 2 attached to the disk attaching part 23; an optical pickup 28 performing recording and/or reproducing of an information signal for the disk 2; a disk recording and reproducing unit 21 having a pickup feeding mechanism 29 transporting the optical pickup 28 in the radial direction of the disk 2; a disk transporting mechanism 40 performing insertion into the device body 3 and discharge from the device body 3; and a transportation drive mechanism 60 driving the disk transportation mechanism 40. The device body 3 has a step part 10 where thickness in the vicinity of an insertion end of the disk 2 becomes thin.
