PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foam having characteristics such as sufficient mechanical strength, light weight, excellent cutting performance which utilizes a cyclic olefin resin and is obtained by increasing expansion ratio. SOLUTION: The resin composition contains a cyclic olefin resin with a glass transition temperature of not higher than 80°C containing a cyclic olefin component as a copolymer component. The resin composition is foamed and molded so as to have expansion density of 0.016-0.009 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. The cyclic olefin resin contained in the resin composition to be foamed preferably contains 50-70 mass% of the cyclic olefin component.
