<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus reducing the driving time while preventing increase in size or cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A lens barrel 3 includes a straight travelling frame 35, and a third lens frame 38. The straight travelling frame 35 has a first detected part 35z, and the third lens frame 38 has a second detected part 38z. A photointerruptor 27 detects whether or not the first detected part 35z is disposed in the detection region 27d, and whether or not the second detected part 38z is disposed in the detection region 27d at different timings.
