PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power saving and quiet sound of a fan motor by rotating the fan motor at appropriate rotational speed in accordance with a state inside a machine. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes at least a PWM fan motor for controlling the rotational speed in a duty ratio of a pulse in a PWM system, and a temperature/humidity detection means detecting temperature and/or humidity. The apparatus includes a control part which compares the temperature and/or humidity detected by the temperature/humidity detection means with target temperature and/or humidity equal to or under allowable temperature and/or allowable humidity, and performs control to decrease the rotational speed of the PWM fan motor by making the duty ratio small when the detected temperature and/or humidity is lower than the target temperature and/or humidity.
