PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic bar which can be locked when drawn out and contracted, and can manually release the lock in all cases. SOLUTION: The telescopic bar 1 comprises a first bar-shaped body 10 and a second bar-shaped body 40 storing the first bar-shaped body 10. The rear part of the first bar-shaped body 10 has a lock recessed part 36 and a lock member 31 protruded from the peripheral face by the elasticity of an elastic member 33. The second bar-shaped body 40 has a lock piece 67 for locking the lock recessed part 36 to lock the first bar-shaped body 10 during the storage of the first bar-shaped body 10 and a lock groove 48 for locking the lock member 31 to lock the first bar-shaped body 10 when the first bar-shaped body 10 is drawn out.
