<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor capable of securing prescribed insulating performance even if polyalkyl glycol lubricating oil is used. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Since this compressor is provided with an insulating cover 56 provided to cover a connection part 51c of a terminal body 51 and a lead wire 33 at a motor 30 side, and a cut off part 56b cutting off an electrical leak route by abutting on a first insulating member 53 on a surface of the insulating cover 56 at the first insulating member 53, the electrical leak route between the first insulating member 53 and the insulating cover 56 can be cut off and the prescribed insulating performances can be secured even if polyalkyl glycol lubricating oil is used.
