<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent short-circuiting between electrode plates due to vertical extension of an expanded lattice body of a positive electrode by corrosion, and contact of an upper frame skeleton part of the lattice body with a negative electrode plate. <P>SOLUTION: In the lead-acid battery equipped with the positive electrode plate 1 and the negative electrode plate composed by filling active material 3 in expanded lattice bodies 2, an active material unfilled part 100 having a certain size W in a height direction of the electrode plate and extending throughout a whole length in a width direction of the electrode plate is provided in one part of the positive electrode plate 1. When the lattice body 2 tries to vertically extend due to corrosion, the active material unfilled part 100 is contracted to absorb the elongation of the lattice body, and the upper frame skeleton part 202 of the lattice body is flipped upward to prevent contact to an ear part of the negative electrode plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
