PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which enlarges a power saving effect of the apparatus by being shifted to an energy saving mode for a certain predetermined time even in an environment where a job request is frequently generated, and by suspending or canceling the processing of sent jobs for the time. SOLUTION: When receiving the job (S41) after shifting to the energy-saving mode (S40), the image forming apparatus 10 cancels the job (S42) received after being shifted to the energy saving mode, and informs a transmitter that the job is canceled (S43). The job can be canceled during the saving of the energy. Therefore, the energy saving mode can be maintained, enabling the further saving of power.
