METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENCODING AND DECODING MOTION VECTOR

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for encoding and decoding a motion vector are provided to select a prediction motion vector about a current motion vector using motion vector predicting modes, thereby exactly selecting a prediction motion vector. CONSTITUTION: A candidate motion vector group is selected about a current motion vector of a current block(S500). A prediction motion vector is selected(S502). It is determined whether the selected prediction motion vector can be predicted in a decoding device(S504). If the selected prediction motion vector can be predicted, the current motion vector is encoded.
