The device has a transparent panel element (14) arranged on a supporting unit (10) and forming a front surface (12). Another transparent panel element (20) forms another front surface (18) and is attached to a lower edge area (16) of the panel element (14). The front surfaces of the panel elements are arranged partially in different depth levels. The panel elements are directly coupled with one another in a force-fit manner. A chamfer is arranged in the lower edge area of the panel element (14). An adhesive film connects the supporting unit and the panel element (14).
