<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supporting work to research, develop and improve a device which is composed of combination of multiple modules. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A server 12 has a combination information database 21 registers a combination information data which is composed of combination element data 211 which indicates a combination element per module and body element data 212 which indicates a body element, and a technical information database 22 which registers technical information data which is composed of design data 221 which indicates at least design information per module, by correlating the combination information data per module with the technical information data. The research and development support method which registers the technical information data of a new module to update the technical information database 22 only when the combination information data of a researched, developed and improved new module matches the combination information data of an existing module.
