PURPOSE: A method for producing mineral wool is provided to reduce or omit unnecessary nitrogen and reduce the amount of fuel gas. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing mineral wool comprises: a step of melting a base material in a furnace having a shaft(11) for maintaining the mineral base material; a step of supplying lattice(7) at the lower portion of the shaft; a step of providing combustion chamber having exit for removing melted base material; a step of heating the combustion chamber(2) by one or more burners(6); a step of supplying liquid or gas fuel to the burners; and a step of converting the fuel to oxygen-containing gas.
