PURPOSE: A steering column of a vehicle is provided to prevent an accident because a worker does not need to assemble a steering column with one hand and to reduce the assembling time by bolting two points of a column mounting lower bracket and a cowl cross panel. CONSTITUTION: A steering column(1) of a vehicle is composed of a column mounting upper bracket(2), a fixing bracket(10), and a column mounting lower bracket(3). The fixing bracket is formed in the column mounting upper bracket at the united structure. The fixing bracket is inserted in a cowl cross panel(5). The column mounting upper bracket and the column mounting lower bracket are bolted with the cowl cross panel while the fixing bracket is inserted in the cowl cross panel. The cross section of the fixing bracket is opened. The opened direction of the fixing bracket faces the rearward of a vehicle body.
