<p>PURPOSE: A character recognition method for inputting characters through a touch input unit and a character input device for performing the method are provided to write characters in various directions, so that a user can exactly write the characters without any inconvenience. CONSTITUTION: When a user inputs selection information for rotation of a forward cross axial base line, a character input device rotates the cross axial base line(S115). If a handwriting character is inputted after initialization, the character input device detects coordinates values of the handwriting character(S120,S125). Based on a rotation angle, the character input device converts the coordinates values of the handwriting character into forward coordinates values(S130). Based on the forward coordinates values, the character input device recognizes the handwriting character(S135).</p> |
