<p>PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to enable quick discharge of current through current drain when a can is compressed vertically, and to prevent accidents such as firing and explosion caused by the overheating of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery(100) comprises an electrode assembly, a can(110) where the electrode assembly is accommodated thereinside; a cap assembly(130) sealing a top opening part of the can; and a discharge induction member inducing current drain by contacting with the can. The side of the can comprises a long-side part(111) and a short-side part with narrower width than the long-side part.</p> |
