FAST TOOL SERVO USING MAGNIFIED MECHANISM

PURPOSE: A micro cutting apparatus having a displacement amplifying unit for a cutting tool is provided to increase the operation range of the cutting tool by applying micro-vibration to the tool. CONSTITUTION: A micro cutting apparatus comprises a rigid body frame(10), a displacement amplifying unit, a piezoelectric actuator(40), and a tool(30). One end of the displacement amplifying unit is connected to the frame to form a fixed end while the other forms a free end. The piezoelectric actuator is fixed to the frame and applies micro-vibration to the displacement amplifying unit. The tool is installed on top of the displacement amplifying unit and cuts a work piece.
