Electrodes for welding steel - without affecting mechanical properties even if steel is corroded or covered in mill-scale

Electrode consists of a powder core contng. 20-40 wt. % rutile concentrate and 10-13 wt.% ferromanganese with additions of feldspar, sodium fluorosilicate and ferrosilicon, balance iron powder. Welding is carried out with AC or DC in an inert atmosphere using (semi)automatic equipment. The position of the joint or its inclination is unimportant. Weld metal deposition can be achieved without splatter, yielding welds resistant to hot cracking and cavitation.
