A particle sensor has a miniaturized cylindrical housing body (1). A standard laser diode (2), or a standard photo diode (12), is disposed in an axial blind bore (6, 15) on the two side surfaces (5, 14). A membrane-like, thin type of aperture diaphragm (21), which is aligned perpendicular to the body axis and comprises an axial bottleneck orifice (24) having a very small size dependant on the medium to be analyzed, is provided between the window faces that are provided at a slight distance from each other. The accordingly very small cross-sectional surface of the medium flow passing through the bottleneck orifice (24) is illuminated by the laser beam, and the shading of the photo diode (12) caused by particles in the medium flow is detected. |
