The plastics compressor housing, especially for a turbocharger radial compressor, has a body (11) of a thermoset material to give the intake (3) and the compressor channel (7). A thermoplastic material (13) forms a hood at least partially over the thermoset body. The compressor housing back wall (9) is of metal, with a stepped end (111).
