<p>The present invention relates to methods and materials for assessing likelihood of responsiveness of a patient having an autoimmune disorder, specifically a myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), to an immunosuppressive therapy (IST). The invention provides a method for analyzing dysregulation of CD4+ and/or CD8+ T cell subsets of a patient for determining the patient's likelihood of responsiveness to IST. Also provided is a prediction of an increased likelihood of a patient's responsiveness to IST is associated with an increased percentage of CD4+ and/or CDS+ effector memory T cells and/or terminal effector memory T cells in the patient. In addition, the invention also provides methods for treating a patient with an autoimmune disorder, such as MDS.</p> |
