PURPOSE: A composition containing pear extract for treating liver cancer is provided to remarkably suppress hepatoma without side effect. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating liver cancer contains pear extract as an active ingredient. The pear extract is produced by pulverizing pear with a hammer mill, performing thermal concentration at 14-15 lb/in^2 and over 120°C for three hours, and sterilizing for three hours or filter-concentration with water, hydrous or anhydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, methanol, ethanol or butanol. The composition contains hoveniae Semen cum Fructus, schizandrae Fructus, oldenlandiae diffusae herba, astragali Radix, paeoniae Radix rubra, glycyrrhizae radix, the Amydae Carapax or the Crataegi fructus extract A food composition is used in the form of oral administration, pouch, drink, or beverage.
