Position measuring system

An interface transmits position signals of a position measuring device (1) to an electronic control unit. A non-volatile memory (3) stores the characteristic values of the position measuring system. A microcontroller (2) records the state variables of the position measuring system and/or of a servo drive, during the operation of the position measuring system and stores the variables in the non-volatile memory.
