PURPOSE: A hot strip down coiler and a coolant spray control method thereof are provided to reduce the frequency of collapse generation and promote transformation by partially controlling coolant spray. CONSTITUTION: A hot strip down coiler comprises a calculation unit(21), a controller(22), and a coolant spraying nozzle(23). In case a strip to be reeled exists, the calculation unit determines coolant injection, and spraying time while coiling the strips and coolant injection, and spraying time after coiling the strips. The controller commands the coolant injection to the strip under the calculation unit. In response to the command of the controller, the coolant spraying nozzle sprays the coolant to the strip.
