PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing calcium from the freshwater pearl using gluconic acid is provided to improve the absorptivity of calcium in the digestive organ and to allow calcium to be processed easily. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing calcium from the freshwater pearl using gluconic acid comprises the steps of pulverizing freshwater pearl; treating 50 g of the pulverized freshwater pearl powder with 600 - 700 mL of a 50% gluconic acid aqueous solution as an organic acid; and freeze-drying the obtained calcium gluconate solution to obtain the powdered product.
