The present invention relates to a composition for delivering glycopeptide antibiotic, the composition comprising peptide having binding specificity for glycopeptide antibiotic, wherein noncovalently bound to the peptide is glycopeptide antibiotic. The composition may further comprise a peptide having binding specificity for a surface material of a medical device, which peptide may be coupled to the peptide having binding specificity for glycopeptide antibiotic. Also provided are a family of peptides, having binding specificity for glycopeptide antibiotic, useful in making the composition according to the invention; methods of applying the composition to a medical device by contacting the composition with a surface of the medical device; and kits comprising the compositions.
