PURPOSE: An array substrate for an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce mask processes without lowering wavy noise and an aperture ratio. CONSTITUTION: A gate line, a common line, and a common line extension unit(114) and a data sub pattern(117) are formed on a substrate. A gate insulating film, ac active layer and an etching preventing pattern are formed. An impurity amorphous silicon layer, the first metal layer and the second metal layer are successively formed. The first and second photoresist patterns are formed. A data line of a double layer structure, source and drain electrodes of the double layer structure, an ohmic contact layer, a common electrode pattern, and a gate sub pattern are formed by removing the impurity amorphous silicon layer and the exposed first and second metal layers. |
