PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING OF DIBENZOTHIOPHENE SULFONE TO BIPHENYL

PURPOSE: A process for manufacturing biphenyl from dibenzothiophene sulfone is provided to improve a conversion ratio of dibenzothiophene sulfone and to prepare biphenyl at a high yield. CONSTITUTION: A process for manufacturing biphenyl from dibenzothiophene sulfone comprises a step for preparing biphenyl by removing sulfur dioxide from dibenzothiophene sulfone in the presence of a magnesium-containing mesoporous molecular sieve catalyst. The magnesium-containing mesoporous molecular sieve catalyst is MCM-41 containing magnesium. The magnesium-containing mesoporous molecular sieve catalyst includes 20~40 weight% magnesium.
