<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery for improving a discharge capacity maintenance rate in repetitive charge and discharge as well as high capacity of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, thickness per one side of active material layers of the positive electrode and the negative electrode is 40 μm or above, the nonaqueous electrolyte includes sulfonic acid salt or sulfone imido salt expressed by a general formula (1) or (2). In the general formulas (1), (2), R1 and R2 are respectively independent, and are perfluoroalkyl groups with the carbon number of 3 or more.
