PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus for easily and correctly positioning stations in a short time, regardless of the kinds and combination of coils concerning a multi-imaging method. SOLUTION: An operator designates an H-F direction image pickup region (Selected Total FOV), which is shorter than the whole length (Total FOV) of a subject, from a whole body scout image displayed on a display part (step 201). A base station is determined in a step 300, and the image pickup positions of the respective stations are automatically calculated based on the number of stations other than the determined base station and the base station.
