<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article management system capable of preventing generation of useless time caused by a storage place of articles during a cooperative operation between a person and a robot, an article management method, and an article management program. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The article management system includes: a detection history database 304 for recording sensing information; a work procedure database 306 for recording a procedure of respective work processes of the person and the robot and handling articles at least in each process; a work progress management means 307 for managing progress of the work procedure; a difficulty resolution time calculation means 311 for calculation an unnecessary difficulty resolution time generated by placing an article when the parson places articles on respective locations in an environment by comparing present locations of the articles obtained from the detection history database with the work procedure recorded in the work procedure database; and an information output device 314 for preparing information on the basis of the difficulty resolution time calculated by the difficulty resolution time calculation means 311.
