<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a variation width in the signal level of a transmission signal received in a second terminal unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a master device M, a gain adjustment of a first relay amplifier 60 compensates for a transmission loss in a first transmission line Ls1, and a gain adjustment of a second relay amplifier 61 compensates for an attenuation amount in accordance with the number of second terminal units TU2 to a second transmission line Ls2. Therefore, a variation width in the signal level of a video signal received in the second terminal unit TU2 via the second transmission line Ls2 can be reduced. As a result, a restriction charged to the number of second terminal units TU2 connectable to the second transmission line Ls2 in a communication system can be reduced.
