PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a call control method and intercom system whose communication units enable a user to judge whether or not to respond to a caller. SOLUTION: In this call control method and intercom system: an intercom master unit 20 transmits a call request to call communication units 30 to all communication units 30 through a video and audio transfer unit 40 in response to a calling notice; a communication unit 30 transmits a provisional response corresponding to the call request to a video and audio transfer unit 40; a video and audio transfer unit 40 makes the intercom master unit 20 start to transmit video and audio signals obtained by a door phone slave device 10; a communication unit 30 outputs video and audio signals transmitted from the video and audio transfer unit 40, and informs a user that a calling operation was carried out by a caller, and transmit a call establishment request for establishing a call from a door phone slave device 10 to the video and audio transfer unit 40 in respond to a responding operation of the user; and a video and audio transfer unit 40 establishes a call between a communication unit 30 and a door phone slave device 10 when a call establishment request is received from some communication unit 30.
