<p>The 1:2 Cr complex azo dye of formula (I) and its salts are new: It is prepd. by coupling diazotised 5-acetylaminoanthranilic acid with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone then reacting with a CR2+ cpd. Used specifically for mass dyeing synthetic polyamides (in which it has excellent solubility) but also for conventional dyeing of wool and nylon from neutral or weakly acid baths. (I) gives deep, orange shades of good general fastness without change in colour in a polyamide spinning melt after 1 hr. at 280 degrees C, and is esp. used for colouring carpets, agricultural mulches, etc.</p> |
