<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image reader utilizing an environment sensor more effectively, and to obtain an image-forming device. <P>SOLUTION: The environment sensor 60 is installed at a right-inner-part side in a case 13 of a document read section 12. The environment sensor 60 can detect temperature and moisture at an installation position. A data output section 62 is provided at the right-inner-part side of the case 13. The data output section 62 is connected to a CCD line sensor 40 and the environment sensor 60.
