<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which includes backlight type liquid crystal panels on both surfaces thereof, wherein a backlight is made common to both liquid crystal panels and reflection of external light made incident from an opposite side liquid crystal panel can be prevented. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In both surface type liquid crystal display device 100 including a video signal inputting means receiving a video signal inputted from an inner part or an outer part, a first driving signal generating means generating a first driving signal for driving the front side liquid crystal panel on the basis of the video signal received by the video signal inputting means and a second driving signal forming means generating a second driving signal for driving the rear side liquid crystal panel on the basis of the video signal received by the video signal inputting means, the first and second driving signals are signals where video data and black data are alternately disposed and timing by which video data and black data are disposed are reversed to each other.
