PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a pneumatic tire by improving the lopsided wear resistance of a tread. SOLUTION: The outer surface of a tread 12, partitioned with four wide peripheral grooves 14 extending along the peripheral direction of the tread 12 is split into five ribs 16, 18. Ribs located at both outside ends in the axial direction of the tread 12 out of these five ribs 16, 18 are formed as shoulder ribs 18. Peripheral grooves 14 adjacent the inside ends 18B of the shoulder ribs 18 are inclined to the sides of the shoulder ribs 18 as tending from the surface of the tread 12 to the corner sides of the grooves. Hard rubber portions 20 formed of hard rubber are embedded in the shoulder ribs 18. |
