<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet seat apparatus configured to readily or hygienically wipe buttocks during sitting on a toilet seat. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The toilet seat apparatus includes a toilet seat provided on top of a toilet bowl and a driving section for moving the toilet seat, wherein the toilet seat has a notch portion at least at any position from a rear side to lateral sides, and the driving section raises and lowers the toilet seat.
