The contour adjustable seat has a modulating outer contour (9), where two compressed air chambers (5,6) are provided. Two compressed air supplying mediums (14,18) are provided for supplying compressed air to the two compressed air chambers. The two compressed air supplying mediums have permanently open air passages (22) with different air passage sections (23,24). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a compressed air system for continuously modulating a contour of a contour adjustable seat or for adjusting and holding an outer contour of the contour adjustable seat; and (2) a method for continuously modulating a contour of a contour adjustable seat or for adjusting and holding an outer contour of the contour adjustable seat.
