<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device, capable of coping with sudden consumption of toner by evading the increase of costs and size of the device and utilizing the advantages of the toner density autonomous control type development device. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 24 provided with a developer storing part 33 arranged adjacently to a developer carrier 32 and storing a two-component developer G; a toner storing part 35 connected to the developer carrier 32 via the developer-storing part 33 and storing toner T so as to supply the toner T by a toner supply member 351; and a separation member 39 for separating the developer-storing part 33 from a developer retreating part 34 and inclined so that the two-component developer G retreated to the developer-retreating part 34 is allowed to flow to the developer storing part 33 or a toner-feeding part 35.
