PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for exactly notifying erroneous connection by automatically detecting a connection state of an audio system in a video conference system or the like. SOLUTION: A sound processing unit has: a microphone input terminal T1 for taking in voice; a speaker output terminal T2 for outputting voice transmitted from one's party; an output terminal T3 for recording for outputting the synthesis of the voice taken in by the microphone input terminal T1 and the voice transmitted from one's party; and a signal processing section 10 that transmits voice composed of a first waveform to the speaker output terminal T2, transmits voice composed of a second waveform differing from the first one to the output terminal T3 for recording, and determines the connection state of equipment to the microphone input terminal T1, the speaker output terminal T2, and the output terminal T3 for recording according to the waveform of the voice taken in by the microphone input terminal T1.
