<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe distal end of a front vision type endoscope, with which it is surely decide how much a treatment tool is projected from the distal end face of a distal end hood even when the transparent distal end hood is provided. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the distal end of the front vision type endoscope, an observation window 3 and a treatment tool projection port 5 are each arranged to the front on the distal end face 2a of an insertion part 1, the cylindrical transparent distal end hood 10 is arranged projecting to the front from a position surrounding the distal end face 2a of the insertion part 1, and a treatment tool guide path 11 for guiding the treatment tool 100 projecting from the treatment tool projection port 5 is formed on the distal end hood 10. A plurality of scale marks 12 displaying the length of the treatment tool 100 in the advancing direction are provided at the position on the side facing the observation window 3 of the treatment tool guide path 11.
