<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for piercing using a provisional tack, in which the increase in working time of an operator and load to the apparatus for piercing is prevented and also, any trouble caused by drill-out is eliminated and the lowering of production efficiency can be prevented. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The piercing method using the provisional tack includes: a first process of forming a plurality of first prepared holes by piercing a plurality of previously decided boring positions in a workpiece in which a plurality of members to be joined to each other are positioned and stacked by using the provisional tacks configured to be separable from the workpiece and having the almost same diameter as that of a main tack by pulling out the head part having a marking part; a second process of provisionally setting each member by hitting the provisional tacks into the plurality first prepared holes formed in the first process; and a third process of forming second prepared holes for inserting the main tacks by calculating a plurality of hitting positions of the main tacks from the image obtained by taking a photograph of the workpiece provisionally set in the second process and piercing each of the calculated positions.
